About the conference
The IV International Conference Rethinking Soundscapes: Traditions, Communities and Heritage, which coincides with the 4th Meeting of the ICTMD National Committee – Portugal, is organised by the Centre for Studies in Sociology and Musical Aesthetics (CESEM) – Évora Branch/Music Department of the School of Arts of the University of Évora, as part of the IN2PAST Associated Laboratory, with partnership of the Institute of Ethnomusicology – Centre for Studies in Music and Dance (INET-md).
Context
The 1st International Conference on Historical Soundscapes took place in 2017, as part of the PASEV Project funded by FCT, at the University of Évora. Subsequent editions were held in 2019 and 2021, and other meetings related to soundscapes were also organised, with the participation of leading national and international academics.

The 4th Meeting of the ICTMD National Committee – Portugal will be held simultaneously, following the previous meetings (3rd and 2nd) organized at the University of Aveiro in 2023 and 2022, and the 1st meeting organized by Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2012.
